Major therapeutic action
Clears the exterior, disperses colds with slight fever, eases the muscles, generates fluids, alleviates diarrhoea, encourages the full expression of rashes.


Indications
o  Diarrhoea.
o  Occipital headache, sore or tight muscles in the upper back and neck; neck and upper back pain, generalised muscle aches.
o  Thirst in disorders like diabetes.


Combinations
o  With Huang Lian Jie Du Tang for dysenteric disorders with feelings of heat and mucus.
o  With Si Nì San for sore, tight neck and shoulders from chronic emotional issues such as stress, irritability,
or depression.


Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75-90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams 2-3 times daily.
