Astragalus membranaceous (Huang Qi, astragalus)
Angelica dahurica (Bai Zhi, angelica)

Major therapeutic action
Clears Heat, eliminates bacteria, tonifies qi and Blood (promotes energy), promotes recovery from colds and flu.

Indications
*  Suppurative skin eruptions, sores and rashes caused by deficiency (condition is aggravated when patient
is tired and run down).
*  With the appropriate key symptoms, this formula can be used to treat middle ear infection, carbuncle, furuncle, suppurative lymphadenitis and other suppurative diseases. These may be slow to heal.

Not suitable for prolonged use. The herbs in this formula are bitter and cold and can damage the digestion.

Dosage
* Infant (6 months or older): 1-2 grams, 2 times daily.
* Child: 1 gram, 2 times daily.
* Adult: The typical dose is three grams twice daily, before meals. In severe cases or the early stages of treatment (the first two weeks), a 50-100% increase in dose may be used, then reduced as the treatment takes effect.
