Qin Pi bitter, cold clears Heat, removes Toxin, treats 
dysentery cools the Liver, brightens the eyes


Indications
*  Dysentery of Heat-Toxin type.

Combined action
Clears Heat, removes Toxin, cools Blood, treats dysentery.

Combinations
|*  For dysentery of Damp-Heat type, add Huang Lian/Mu Xiang.
*  Can be added to Huang Lian Jie Du Tang for dysentery.
Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.
