Excrete Damp, strengthens the Spleen. |
Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75-
90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three
grams twice daily. |
Indications
* Spleen deficiency with Damp stagnation and Fluid retention.
* Poor appetite.
* Dizziness, blurred vision
* Difficult urination, oedema. |
Cautions and contraindications
None noted.
Bai Zhu is contraindicated in patients with hyperactivity of Fire due to yin deficiency, thirst and insufficient Body Fluid. |
Combinations
* Combine with Dang Shen/Huang Qi for Spleen deficiency companied with Damp stagnation. |
