 sweet, warm tonifies the blood, strengthens the Kidneys,nourishes Kidney yin

He Shou Wu

bitter, sweet tonifies the Liver and Kidney, nourishes the Blood, expels Wind from the skin


Major therapeutic action
Tonify blood and fluids

 Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.

Indications
*  For all clinical and subclinical anaemia and dryness with malar flush, afternoon or low grade fever patterns, where a stronger tonic effect is required.

Cautions and contraindications
This combination may causes bloating or indigestion in some patients.
None noted.

Combinations
*  With Xiao Yao San for significant anaemia.
