Major therapeutic action
Benefits the Liver and the Kidney, nourishes Liver Blood.

 Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.

Indications
*  yin deficiency of the Liver and the Kidney: bitter taste, dry throat, dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia, dreaminess, fatigue, and tinnitus.

Cautions and contraindications
Caution in patients with diarrhoea due to deficient Cold of the Spleen and the Stomach while prescribing Nu Zhen Zi.

*  To strengthen the efficacy, combine with Liu Wei Di Huang Wan.
