Carapax Trionycis is the carapace of Trionyx sinensis Wiegmann (Fam. Trionychidae). The animal is collected all the year round, but mostly in autumn and winter, killed, scalded by boiling water until the hard skin of the carapace can be peeled off, taken out. The drug is collected, removed from the remaining muscles, and dried in the sun.

The drug is indicated in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammation, male infertility and hepatosplenomegaly, etc..

Effects on the immune system

bie jia could promote the formation of immune globin, prolong the existing time of antibody onload="highlight();" , so as to increase the immune function of the body onload="highlight();" .

Anticancer effect

Sensitive to liver cancer cell.

Powder of bie jia had inhibitory effect on transplanted solid carcinoma in mice, but it had no obvious effect on ascites carcinoma. Bei Jia San could obviously inhibit the growth of L1210, HL-60 and stomach cancer 803 cells.

Chronic pelvic inflammation

Yin Jia Wan (experiential formula): bie jia 35g; jin ling zi, hu po, 10g each; xiang fu, chi shao, xia ku cao, si gua luo, dang gui, 15g each; chuan xiong 6g; jia zhu 12g; zi hua di ding, pu gong ying, lian qiao, jin yin hua, hong teng, 30g; each. Modify the formula according to accompanied symptoms. All the drugs were made into pills of 10g each. 1 pill, tid. 52 cases out of 60 treated cases of chronic pelvic inflammation were effective.

Male infertility

Sheng Jing Granule (experiential formla): huang bo, zhi mu, gui ban, bie jia, lu jiao, gou qi, 9g each; xian mao, ba ji tian, 12g each; yin yang huo, rou cong rong 15g each. The drug was made into granules, each sachet containing 17g crude drug. 1 sachet, tid, 3 months as a course of treatment. After 2 courses, 11 cases' spouses got pregnant out of 51 treated cases of male infertility.
