Fructus Meliae toosendan is the dried ripe fruit of Melia toosendan Sieb. et Zucc. (Fam. Meliaceae). The drug is collected in winter when ripe, removed from foreign matter, and dried.

Chronic gastritis |
Powder of chuan lian zi 0.5g, powder of yan hu suo, 0.5g and hibitane 0.2g were mixed and encapsulated, tid, before meals, 4 weeks as a course of treatment. 40 cases of chronic gastritis caused by campylobacter pybridis. Inflammation disappeared in 28 cases, relieved obviously in 12 cases. This method was also effective on 220 cases of ulcer. |
Acute mastitis |
Powder of chuan lian zi 9g, brown sugar 60g, taken with yellow wine or boiled water, 10~20g every time, once to twice every day, for 2~5 days. 43 cases were treated, after 2~4 doses, all the patients were cured within three days. |
Tinea capitis |
chuan lian zi was grounded into fine powder after being parched to yellow, and made into 50% ointment with cooked lard or Vaseline. Shave the patients' hair completely and wash the scab clean, then wash with alum water. and wipe to dry. Apply the ointment, the depth was 2~3mm. Once every day, 10 consecutive days as a course of treatment. Usually, the disease could be cured after 2~3 courses. The effective rate was above 90%. |
