Squamus Manitis is the scale of Manis pentadactyla Linnaeus (Fam. Manidae). The pangolin is captured all the year round, killed, treated with boiling water for a moment. The scales is taken down, washed clean, and dried in the sun.

Miscellaneous effects

Water decociton-alcohol precipitation of chuan shan jia had lower the whole blood viscosity under high shear rate, improve the erythrocytic deformability, increase erythrocytic electrophoresis ability and lower fibrinogen. 10 minutes' perfusion to isolated hearts of rats could increase the blood flow in the coronary vessel by 6.7%, and increase the contraction of cardiac muscle. chuan shan jia could elevate blood cells.

Ischemic myospasm

Chu Luan No. II: chuan shan jia 15g, dang gui 6g, hai zao 30g, mu xiang 15g, sheng jin cao 30g, qiang huo 12g, du huo 9g, di fu zi 15g. All drugs were made into fine powder which was mixed with mature vinegar or water and applied to the rigid muscles. Once every 4~5 hours, 20 days as a course of treatment. 11 cases of ischemic myospasm were treated (with I, II, III), and all were effective.

Premenstrual breast distension and tenderness

Jie Yu Ping Chong Tang (experimential formula): chuan shan jia, chuan lian zi, xia ku cao, dang gui, dan shen, niu xi, wu yao, ju he, zao jiao ci, etc.. The formula could regulate qi, activate Blood and remove obstruction from the collaterals, and was effective on premenstrual breast distension and tenderness.

Mastitis

Pu Zao Lu Jiao Jian: pu gong ying, zao jiao ci, lu jiao pian, chuan shan jia, di ding, ren dong teng, sheng da huang, chi shao, huang qin, gui zhi, etc.. External application of Jin Huang San was accompanied. The method was used to treat initial stage of mastitis and had good effect. The average course of treatment for 80 cases was 8.5 days.
