hei dou is rich in proteins, fat and carbohydrate, and carotene, Vit B1, B2, etc.. It also contains isoflavones including daidzin and genistin, saponins including soyasapogenol A, B, C, D and E.

Miscellaneous effects |
Daidzin and genistin contained in hei dou had estrogen-like effect. Daidzin could relieve the spasm of isolated small intestine of mice.
