jiang can contains protein and fat. The white powder of the body onload="highlight();" surface contains ammonium oxalate. It's dried in the sun for direct use or stir-fried.

Hypnotic effect

Hypodermic and introperitoneal injection of or drenching alcohol or water infustion of jiang can to mice or intravenous injection to rabbits had hypnotic effect.

Anti-convulsion effect

Drenching 100% jiang can decoction to mice could lower the death count of mice due to convulsion caused by strychnine, but it had no obvious antagonizing effect on convulsion caused by electric shock, cardisin and caffeine.

Anti-coagulant effect

Extract fluid of jiang can had strong anti-coagulant effect both in vitro and in vivo.

Anti-cancer effect

Alcohol extract of jiang can could inhibit the growth of S180 in mice; in vitro, it could inhibit the respiration of human liver cell.

Bacteria-inhibiting effect

in vitro, jiang can had inhitory effect on staphylococcus aureus, bacillus coli and bacillus pyocyaneus, etc..

Cholesterol lowering effect

jiang can could lower cholesterol in hypercholesteremia.

Immune function

jiang can could increaset the resistant and regulatory functions of the body onload="highlight();" .

Chronic hepatitis

Jian Gan No. II (tai zi shen, fu ling, huai shan yao, sheng di, sang shen, mu gua, ji gu cao, 15g each; sha ren 5g; jiang can 6g; she gan, bie jia, 10g each; bai shao 12g) were used to treat 73 cases of chronic persistent hepatitis. Modify the formula according to accompanied symptoms. 1 dose daily, 3 months as a course of treatment, 1~2 courses totally. 60 cases were clinically cured, 12 improved and 1 ineffective.

Mumps

Oral administration of Jie Du Xiao Zha Yin (pu gong ying, jin yin hua, 15g each; lian qiao 9g; jiang can, niu bang zi, zhe bei, chai hu, gan cao, 6g each; chi shao, hu zhang, 12g each; she tui 2g) and external application of Qing Long Bai Tang Ni (paste made from earthworm and sugar) were used to treat 56 cases of mumps, 52 were cured and 4 ineffective.

Hyperlipemia

jiang can powder, 3g ,tid, 2 months as a course of treatment. 21 cases of hyperlipemia were treated and all were effective.

Diabetes

jiang can was grounded into fine powder, 5g, tid, before meals, taken with boiled water. 2 months as a course of treatment with an interval of 2 weeks between two courses. Diet therapy was combined, blood sugar lowering medicine was quitted. 52 cases of adult non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus were treated, and 21 were markedly effective, 29 effective, 2 ineffective.

Thyroid adenoma

Xiao Ying Tang (xia ku cao, hai zao, xuan shen, mu li, 30g each; zhe bei mu 12g; san leng, e zhu, huang yao zi, pao shan jia, 10g each; jiang can 12g; bai jie zi, dang gui, xiang fu, 12g each) was used as the basic formula to treat 115 cases of thyroid adenoma, 1 dose every day, water decoction. After 24~90 doses, 98 were cured, 13 markedly effective and 4 ineffective.

Facial paralysis

Sou Feng Huo Luo Tang (jiang can, qiang huo, 10g each; fang feng, chi shao, 12g each; wu gong 1 pieces; gan cao 3g; quan xie 3g; sang zhi 20g; dan shen 15g) was used to treat facial paralysis. Modify the formula according to accompanied symptoms. Western medicine of Vit B1 and rutin, 40mg tid, oryzanol and bendazole 20mg tid were applied. 36 cases were treated, and all cases were cured after 2~24 days.

Trigeminal neuralgia

Huo Xue Jie Jing Tang (dang gui, di long, 12g each; bai shao, chuan xiong, bai zhi, 15g each; huang qi 30g; quan xie 3g, wu gong 2 pieces, jiang can 10g) were used to 58 cases of trigeminal neuralgia, 1 dose daily. After 5~60 doses, 39 cases were cured, 12 markedly effective, 4 effective and 3 ineffective.

Cerebral thrombosis

Xiao Shuan Tang (dan shen 20g; chuan niu xi 15g; da haung 6g; chuan xiong, ge gen, tao ren, hong hua, chi shao, bai jiang can, di long, tian zhu huang, zhi dan xing, 10g each) were used to treat 68 cases of cerebral thrombosis, and 38 were basically cured, 16 markedly improved, 12 improved and 11 ineffective.

Urticaria

Si Chong Tang (wu shao she 5~10g, guang di long 9~15g, jiang can 6~12g, chan tui 3~6g) was used to treat 100 cases of urticaria, 1 dose daily, water decoction. 60 cases were cured, 32 effective and 8 ineffective.

Cutaneous pruritus

Gui Shao Shou Wu Yin (dang ui 15g, bai shao 10g, zhi shou wu 10g, bai xian pi 15g, di fu zi 10g, bai ji li 10g, jiang can 10g, chan tui 10g, jing jie 10g, fang feng 10g) was used to treat 19 cases of middle-aged or senile cutaneous pruritus, 10 were cured, 8 improved and 1 ineffective.
