Lowering blood pressure

Intravenous or intramuscular injection or oral administration of 25% solution of pang da hai could obviously lower the blood pressure of dog and cat. Further research showed that the effect of lowering blood pressure was related to the nerve center.

Laxative effect

Lixivium of seed of pang da hai had lenitive effect on rabbit. The water extract of husk, soft shell or kernel of pang da hai could increase bowel movements of anaesthesized dogs no matter what kind of administration method was used.

Others

The water extract of husk, soft shell and kernel of pang da hai all had certain diuretic and antalgic effects without local excitation.

Acute tonsillitis

4~8 pieces of pang da hai was soaked in boiling water for half an hours, then drink the liquid slowly. 4 hours later, make and drink the tea again. 100 cases of acute tonsillitis were treated and 68 were cured, 21 markedly improved, and 11 cases showed no good effects.

Chronic pharyngitis

Zi Yin Li Yan Cha which was made from pang da hai, xuan shen, mai dong, hang ju hua, shan dou gen, qing guo, ban zhi lian, fei qing dai, chi shao and sheng gan cao was used to treat 100 cases of chronic pharyngitis, 34 were cured, 64 improved, 2 ineffective, the effective rate was 98%.

Polyp of vocal cord

pang da hai, 5 pieces; she gan gua jin deng, he zi rou, ge gen, chuan xiong, 9g each; bai jiang can, chi shao, sheng di, tian gu jing, 12g each; chan tui, mu hu die, gan cao 3g each. The formula was used to treat polyp of vocal cord of Evil Heat type (congestive type), after 14~90 days' administration, the effect was obvious.
