Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga is the dried body onload="highlight();" of female, Eupolyphaga sinensis Walker or Steleophaga plancyi Indications Edema with oliguria; thirst and oliguria due to (Boteny) (Fam. Corydiidae). The drug is collected, scalded to death by boiling water, and dried in the sun.

tu bei chong contains fatty oil; in unsaturated fatty acids, there're palmitoleic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid; in saturated fatty acids, there're palmitic acid, stearic acid and myristic acid, etc..

Miscellaneous effects

Water decoction alcohol precipitation of zhe chong could increase the blood flow volume of coronary vessels by 17% after 10 minutes' perfusion to isolated rat hearts. In rabbits, it could lower plasma viscosity and whole blod viscosity under medium and low shear, increase erythrocyte deformability and erythrocyte electrophoresis rate, lower the platelet adhesiveness, inhibit in vitro thrombosis and lower fibrinogen.

zhe chong had certain anti-coagulant effect.

in vitro tests showed that zhe chong could inhibit the cell respiration of liver cancer and stomach cancer. zhe chong extracturm could inhibit WBC in patients with leukemia.

Tumors in late stage

Xiao Liu Chong Ji (experiential formula): tu bie chong 12g, dang gui 9g, hai zao 30g, bing qiu zi 12g, di long 12g, mu li 30g, for prolonged use (3 months to over 5 years). 100 cases of malignant tumors were treated and this formula could prolong the survival time and improve life quality.

Sprain

Charred zhe chong was grounded into fine powder. 6g zhe chong powder mixed with 250g yellow wine was used to treat sprain, once daily, 1~3 times daily. 155 cases of sprain were treated and 125 were cured.

bi syndrome

Wu Chong Yin: zhe chong 9g, quan xue 5g, wu gong 2 pieces, di long 10g, wu shao she 10g, qiang huo 15g, du huo 15g, gui zhi 15g, huang qi 20g, xun gu feng 10g, ji xue teng 15g, gan cao 6g. Modify the formula according to TCM differentiation, 1 dose daily. 60 cases of bi syndrome due to Wind, Cold and Dampness were treated. After an average course of 45 days, all were effective except 3 cases.

Coronary heart disease

zhe chong 10~30g, water decoction, 18 cases were treated and the EKG effective rate was 50%.

Hepatocirrhosis

Da Huang Zhe Chong Wan: 1 pill, bid, for 4~12 weeks, 27 cases were treated, 11 cases' hepatic functions were restored and 16 were improved.
