Laxative effect |
wu hua gou could be used as an aperient in constipation. |
Anti-tumor effect |
The latex of the tree had ingredients that could inhibit transplanted sarcoma in rats. Prepared water extract of dried fruit had anti-sarcoma effect. Latex from immature fruits could inhibit transplanted sarcoma in rats and spontaneous breast cancer in mice. It could induce the necrosis of tumors, delay the development of transplanted adenocarcinoma, leukaemia and lymphosarcoma. |
Others |
Aether extract of wu hua guo could lower the blood pressure in rabbits, cats and dogs, and slightly excite the respiration.

Pemphigus |
Fresh leaves of wu hua guo 100~150g was washed clearn and decocted to wash the affected area of infantile pemphigus, 3~5 times daily. It could be cured after 3~5 days. |
