Fructus Foeniculi is the dried ripe fruit of Foeniculu vulgare Mill. (Fam. Umbelliferae). The plant is cut in autumn when the fruit nearly ripe, dried in the sun, and then the drug is tapped off and removed from foreign matter.

Miscellaneous effects

hui xiang oil could alleviate abdominal bloating and pain, lower the tension of the stomach and then stimulate it to restore normal peristalsis. Anethole may have anti-bacterial effect.

Plant polysaccharide isolated from xiao hui xiang hand anti-tumor effect.

Complications after vasoligation

chuan lian zi, li zhi he, ju he, xiao hui xiang, chi shao, tao ren, dan pi, ru xiang, mo yao, 10g each. Modify the formula according to TCM differentiation. 1 dose daily. The formula was usded to treat 32 cases of complications after vasoligation, and 30 cases were effective.

Chronic pelvic inflammation

xiao hui xiang, mo yao, hong hua, dang ui, chuan xiong, qian nian jian, tou gu cao, chi shao, ai ye, yan hu suo, mang xiao and huang lian were mixed with 50ml of 35% alcolol for external application. 91 out of 100 treated cases were effective.

Infanitle hydrocele of testis

gan jiang, xiao hui xiang, gan cao, 3g each; gui zhi 4g; bai zhu, fu ling, li zhi he, che qian zi, yi yi ren, 9g each; shan yu rou 6g. Modify the formula according to TCM differentiation 1 dose daily, After 5~42 doses, 42 out of 46 treated cases were effective.

Primary dysmenorrhea

Tong Jing Ling Tablet, each 100 tablets containing yan hu suo 25g; chao xiao hui xiang, chao zhe chong, wu yao, 15g each; xi xin 10g. Take the medicine 2 weeks before menstrual period, 5 tablets, tid, for 3 periods. 76 out of 80 treated cases were effective.
