Er Xian Tang was used as the basic formula to treat 26 cases of infertility resulted from irregular menstruation. Among the cases, 5 were over thirty years old, the oldest one was 36 years old; 12 cases were 28~30 years old; 9 were 25~27 years old. Time of infertility after marriage: 16 cases were 2~4 years, 8 were 5~7 years, 2 were over 8 years. Besides, 5 of the cases had incrassated adnexa, 7 had small uterus, 1 had high androgenic hormone level. Results: 18 of the 26 cases were pregnant, among them, 2 were over 30 years old, 9 were 28~30, 7 were 25~27, the total conception rate was 69.23%. The treating time varied from 37 days to 1 years, usually 4~7 months.
Yang used Er Xian Tang to treat 14 cases of male menupausal syndrome. Patients’ age ranged from 47~58 years old, their spouses were all in good health. Main symptoms were: impotence, hypertension, headache, tidal fever, depression, etc. Er Xian Tang was used as the basic formula, all patients were cured after courses of treatment varying from 10~30 days.
An used modified Er Xian Tang to treat menupausal syndrome, and got satisfactory effects. In treated group of 64 cases whose age ranged from 45~58 years old, courses of disease ranged from 1 month to 2 years; in control group of 41 cases whose age ranged from 45~55 years old, courses of diseases varied from 1 month to 2 years. Treated group was administered with Er Xian Tang: yin yang huo 10g, xian mao 10g, ba ji tian 10g, huang bo 10g, zhi mu 10g, dang gui 10g. The formula was modified according to different symptoms and signs. 1 decoction every day, 1 month as a course of treatment. Control goup was administered with stilbestrol 0.5mg, norgestrel one tablet, once every night; with obvious nervous system symptoms, add diazepam 2.5mg, t.i.d., 1 month as a course of treatment. Results: in treated group, 41 cases were markedly effective, 22 effective, 1 ineffective, the total effective rate was 98%; in control group, 21 cases were markedly effective, 13 effective, the total effective rate was 82.7%.
