HONG TENG & BAI JIANG CAO

Compound Hong Teng Tablet was used to treat acute simple appendicitis and suppurative appendicitis in early stage. Method: hong teng 60g, pu gong ying 30g, sheng da huang 18g and chuan po 1g were made into Compound Hong Teng Tablet (above dosage could be made into 12 tablets). 4 tablets, tid, taken orally. 1213 cases were treated and satisfactory curative effect was obtained.

100 cases of chronic pelvic inflammation were treated with Hong Teng Bai Jiang Tang. Prescription: hong teng, bai jiang cao, pu gong ying, 30g each; zi hua di ding, ye ju hua, jin yin hua 20g each. All drugs were decocted twice, the decoction was concentrated to 100ml. The temperature concentrated decoction was kept around 30°C and used for 3 hours’ retention enema. Once every day, 10 times as a course of treatment. Stop the treatment temporarily during the menstrual period. The total effective rate was around 98%.

Senile acute infection of biliary tract was treated with Jing Hong Tang or Jing Hong Tablet. Jing Hong Tang: hong teng 60g, pu gong ying 30g, sheng da huang 9g, chuan po 9g, xuan ming fen 9g, 1 dose every day; or Jing Hong Pian (every 15 tablets containing 60g hong teng, 30g pu gong ying, 1.5g sheng da huang), 5 tablets, tid. The total effective rate was 87.1%.

Distilled liquid of bai hua bai jiang was used to treat 134 cases of acute supurative tonsillitis, pneumonia, acute appendicitis, infection of biliary tract and acute pancreatitis. Dosage and usage: 2~4ml, for intramuscular injection, 2~4 times daily, 2~15 days as a course of treatment. The curative rate was 69%, other cases were improved to different extent.

Acute epidemic hepatitis with jaundice was treated with the following method: yin chen 45g, bai jiang cao 21g, one dose every day, taken in three times after being decocted with water. Some of the patients also used Gan Ping Injecion (yin chen, bai jiang, 2:1), 2ml, bid, for intramuscular injection. 83 cases were treated, the curative rate was 93.6%.
