Jia used modified Juan Bi Tang to treat 35 cases of periarthritis humeroscapularis, control group of another 35 cases was set and treated with confortid, procaine and dexamethasone. Results: in treated group, 31 cases were cured, 3 improved, 1 ineffective, the total effective rate was 97.4%; in control group, 14 cases were cured, 14 improved, 7 ineffective, the total effective rate was 80% (P<0.05).
Juan Bi Tang was used to treat 48 cases of cervical spondylopathy. Prescription: qiang huo, fang feng, jiang huang 12g each; dang gui 10g; chi shao, zhi huang qi 15g each; zhi gan cao 8g. After being decocted with water, the decoction was taken warm in three times of morning, noon and evening, one dose every day, 20 days in succession as a course of treatment. With cold feeling and pain in the neck and arms, add zhi shou wu, qing mu xiang, 10g each, wu gong 1; if the pain was intense, add tian qi fen 6g (taken with water in three times); with vertigo and blurred vision, add tian ma, gou teng 10g each; with high blood pressure, add niu xi, du zhong 15g each; with poor appetite, add huai shan yao 15g, bai zhu 10g; with abdominal distension, add chen pi 10g. Results: 36 cases were clinically cured, 11 markedly effective, 1 ineffective.
