- 1. Hemoptysis due to pulmonary tuberculosis
68 cases of hemoptysis caused by pulmonary tuberculosis were treated with the following formula: mai dong, tian dong, nan sha shen, gan di huang, shan yao, chuan bei mu, chuan bai he, e jiao, 10g each; bai bu, bai ji, 6g each; san qi 3g; mu li 15g. 1 dose every day, taken in two times after being decocted with water. Results: within 24 hours after administration, 58 cases’ hemoptysis stopped, 14 cases’ hemoptysis decreased markedly.
- 2. Whooping cough
- Formula: tian dong, mai dong, gan cao, 9g each; huang qin, gua lou ren, bai bu, ting li zi, ban xia, 6g each; ma huang, dan nan xing, di long, 3g each. All drugs were decocted with water. For infantile patients from 2 to 5 years old, each dose was taken in two days; for 6~10 years old, 1 dose every day; for those over 11 years old, 2 doses everyday was allowable according to the state of illness. Among the 50 treated cases of whooping cough, 28 were cured, 16 markedly effective, 6 ineffective.
