Shen Fu Tang was used to treat 9 cases of infectious shock. Methods: except for anti-infective medicine, all other medicine were no longer used and were replaced by Shen Fu Tang: red ginseng 10g, fu zi 10g. 2 doses in the first day, and 1 dose every day from the second day. Results: all cases were cured, the curative effect appeared as early as 24 hours later.
Shen Fu Tang was used to treat 25 cases of hypotension. Pressure value of 4 cases were 5.33~8/0~4 Kpa, 7 cases 8~9.33/4~5.33 Kpa, 14 cases 9.33~12.5/5.33~8 Kpa. Methods: while treating the primary diseases, mix Shen Fu Injection into liquid for intravenous drip use. Dosage of Shen Fu Injection: 60~80ml if pressure value is less than 8/4 Kpa, 40~60ml if pressure vale is more than 8/4 Kpa but less than 10.6/6 Kpa, 20ml if pressure is more than 10.6/6 Kpa but less than 12.5/8 Kpa. 6 times or twice every day. For patients whose pressure value was less than 8/4 Kpa, 20ml Shen Fu Injection could be used for intravenous injection before intravenous drip. Results: 10 cases’ symptoms disappeared and the pressure value returned to normal; 9 cases’ symptoms disappeared and the pressure value increased to 12.5/8 Kpa; 3 cases’ symptoms improved and but the pressure value was still less than 12.5/8 Kpa; 2 cases died because of complicated hemorrhage of digestive tract of hepatocirrhosis. Conclusion: Shen Fu Tang has a stable function of increasing the blood pressure. Shen Fu Injection’s curative effects on hypotension after myocardial infarction, ordinary hypotension and neurogenic shock, effects on hemorrhage due to gastroduodenal ulcer took the second place, effects on complicated hemorrhage of digestive tract of hepatocirrhosis was the worst.
Shen Fu Tang was used to treat 123 cases of premature beat, which were all diagnosed by EKG. Among the patients, 39 were diagnosed as atrial premature beat, 36 atrioventricular premature beat and 46 ventricular premature beat. Prescription: ren shen 15~20g, zhi fu zi 15~30g, zhi gan cao 20~40g, dan shen 30g, yu jin 15g, zhi ke 10g, chuan xiong 10g. Variations: with deficiency of qi and yin, add huang qi, wu wei zi, sheng di, suan zao ren; with severe chest pain, add san qi, xie bai, tan xiang; with deficiency of Heart and Spleen, add fu ling, huai shan, bai zhu. 1 dose every day, fu zi should be decocted 30 minutes earlier, the decoction was taken warm in two times, 15 days as a course. Results: atrial premature beat: 13 cases were markedly effective, 25 effective, 1 ineffective; atrioventricular premature beat: 11 markedly effective, 24 effective, 1 ineffective; ventricular premature beat: 18 markedly effective, 28 effective, 2 ineffective. The total effective rate was 96.7%.
21 cases of Sick sinus syndrome were treated by Shen Fu Tang. Among the 21 patients, 11 were caused by coronary heart disease, 7 myocarditis, 3 myocardosis. Methods: ren shen 10g and zhi fu zi 5g in 1000ml water were decocted to 50~100ml, and honey could be mixed, 1 dose every day, 2 months in succession. Results: 12 cases were markedly effective, which showed significant difference (P<0.001) compared with western medicine group; 6 effective, but with no significant difference; 3 ineffective. After the administration of Shen Fu Tang, patients’ mental state and appetite were improved, some patients also had increased urine volumE.
Shen Fu Tang can be used to treat the patients with heart failure whom digitalis had no curative effects on. 16 cases of chronic heart failure were treated with Shen Fu Tang combining Sheng Mai San, among the patients, 6 were caused by rheumatic heart disease, 5 pulmonary heart disease and 2 myocardial infarction. Results: 13 cases were cured, 3 improved, the total effective rate was 100%.
