Ingredients
Asarum seiboldii (Xi Xin, asarum)
Scutellaria baicalensis (Huang Qin, Baical skullcap root)
Astragalus membranaceous (Huang Qi, astragalus)
Atractylodes macrocephala  (Bai Zhu, atractylodes)
Ledebouriella divaricata (Fang Feng, siler)
Schizonepeta tenuifolia (Jing Jie, schizonepeta)
Xanthium sibiricum (Cang Er Zi, xanthium)
Angelica dahurica (Bai Zhi, angelica)
Cinnamomum cassia (Gui Zhi, cinnamon twigs)
Acorus gramineus (Shi Chang Pu, sweetflag)

Major therapeutic action
Dispels Wind, clears Heat, promotes dispersing function of the Lung, clears the nose, inhibits allergic reactions.

Biomedical action
Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergenic, opens the nose and sinuses.
Indications
o  Acute attacks of seasonal or perennial allergic rhinitis or sinusitis.
o  With the appropriate key symptoms, this formula can be used to treat biomedical conditions such as allergic rhinitis, nasal sinusitis or common cold.

Key symptoms for use
o  Sneezing, itchy or painful nose
o  Nasal discharge
o  Nasal congestion
o  Watery, itchy eyes

Combinations
o  With Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang for digestive weakness as the main pathogenesis.
o  With Yu Ping Feng San  & Cang Er San for patients with  weak lung function or depressed immunity.
o  With Wu Wei Zi for atopic conditions.

Dosage
The typical dose is three grams twice daily, before meals. In severe cases or the early stages of treatment (the first two weeks), a 50-100% increase in dose may be used, then reduced as the treatment takes effect.

Cautions and contraindications
It’s advisable to take this medicine after meals.
Patients with stomach-ache.
