Sang Ji Sheng

bitter, neutral removes Wind-Damp, tonifies the Liver and the Kidney, 
strengthens the Tendon and Bone, nourishes Blood, calms foetus

Sang Zhi

bitter, neutral expels Wind, removes obstructions from collaterals

Expels Wind, removes Damp, dredges collaterals

Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.

Indications
*  Bi syndrome of Wind-Damp type, soreness of the waist and knees.

Combinations
*  With deficiency of the Liver and the Kidney, add Du Zhong/Xu Duan.
*  Can be added to San Bi Tang or Wind-Damp Bi syndrome with Liver and Kidney deficiency complicated with qi and Blood deficiency.
