Regulates the digestive system, improves the digestibility of some oily herbs. |
Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75-
90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three
grams twice daily. |
Indications
* Abdominal bloating, loss of appetite, loose stools, nausea, fat intolerance.
* Can be added to any prescription that causes digestive upset. Typical examples are formulas that tonify
fluids or blood—the main herbs, rehmannia and angelica, are quite rich and oily. The common symptoms
are those listed above. |
