Major therapeutic action
Tonifies blood, opens up the channels and promotes blood circulation.

 Attributes and Domain
bitter, sweet, warm; Heart, Spleen

Indications
*  Mild or subclinical anaemia patterns with peripheral circulatory insufficiency. Used for pain and numbness in the extremities.
*  Anaemia following chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.
Combinations
*  With Si Wu Tang for weakness and fatigue following radiotherapy.
*  With Si Wu Tang and Si Jun Zi Tang for numbness with mild or subclinical anaemia and weakness and lethargy.
*  With San Bi Tang for joint pain with a fixed and stabbing nature and parasthaesia.
