Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75-
90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three
grams twice daily. |
Indications
* Irregular menstruation, severe abdominal pain, failure to discharge lochia after parturition and other gynaecopathy due to Blood stasis.
* Cardiac pain due to Blood stasis. |
Cautions and contraindications
None noted.
Raw Pu Huang can contract the uterus, it is contraindicated in pregnant women. |
Combinations
* With qi stagnation, add Jin Ling Zi San.
* For cardiac pain, combine with Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang. |
