Bai Zi Ren

sweet, neutral nourishes the Heart, calms shen,
moistens the Intestine, relieves constipation

Suan Zao Ren

sweet, sour, neutral nourishes the Heart, calms shen, arrests sweating


Major therapeutic action
Invigorates Liver Blood, nourishes the Heart.

 Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75- 90 grams of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams twice daily.

Indications
o  Palpitation, fear, insomnia due to Blood deficiency.

o  Combine with Jiu Jie Chang Pu/Yuan Zhi for poor memory and insomnia.
