Rheum palmatum (Da Huang, rhubarb)
Scutellaria baicalensis (Huang Qin, scute)
Aquilaria agallocha roxb (Chen Xiang, ligumaloes)

Discharges Fire and dispels Phlegm.

Biomedical action
Sedative.

Indications
o  Stubborn phlegm of excessive Heat type.
o  With the appropriate key symptoms, this formula can be used to treat biomedical conditions such as schizophrenia, epilepsy and high fever.

o  loss of consciousness
o  cough and asthma with thick phlegm
o  stuffiness in the chest and epigastric region
o  vertigo with profuse phlegm
o  constipation
o  yellow, thick and greasy tongue fur

Dosage

The typical dose is three grams twice daily, before meals. In severe cases or the early stages of treatment (the first two weeks), a 50-100% increase in dose may be used, then reduced as the treatment takes effect.
