Ingredients
Cistanche salsa (Rou Cong Rong, broomrape)
angelica sinensis (Dang Gui, Chinese angelica)
achyranthes bidentata (Niu Xi, achyranthes)
alisma orientalis (Ze Xie, alisma)
Citrus aurantium (Zhi Ke, aurantium)
Cimicifuga foetida (Sheng Ma, cimicifuga)

Major therapeutic action
Relieves constipation with warming and moistening methods.

Biomedical action
Laxative.

Indications
*  Constipation caused by Kidney qi deficiency.
*  With the appropriate key symptoms, this formula can be used to treat biomedical conditions such as constipation in the elderly or after childbirth.

Combinations
*  With qi deficiency, combine with Ren Shen.
Dosage
The typical dose is three grams twice daily, before meals. In severe cases or the early stages of treatment (the first two weeks), a 50-100% increase in dose may be used, then reduced as the treatment takes effect.
