Moves energy, and aids digestion. |
Dosage
The typical proportion when added to a constitutional formula is 6:1 formula to addition (15 grams in 75-90 grams
of formula). If a stronger effect is desired more can be added. When used alone the dose is three grams 2-3 times daily. |
Indications
* Constipation, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain.
* Habitual constipation in a sedentary or office bound individual.
* Paralytic ileus following abdominal surgery. |
Cautions and contraindications
Caution in patients with heat or fluid deficiency patterns.
None noted. |
Combinations
* With Si Ni San for constipation with an emotional or stress component. |
